This self-seeded in my garden and I transferred it to a pot, but I have no idea what it is.

Sorry, Dottie, I haven't a clue but it looks very familiar :wacko:
If anything comes to mind, I'll post. Could you get a closer photo of the flower and leaf by any chance? |

I posted this in another forum the same day.
I've had several replies and have been told it is a form of Balsam. Apparently it spreads like weeds so I've been advised to keep an eye on it. |

I hope it's not like a really destructive weed, the type that strangle other plants I mean, because it's very pretty.
