Sunday Shopping
The Sunday morning starting grid The supermarkets doors All lined up and ready to go An uneasy pause That time approaches slowly The clock hands moving round Big hand on the five now Six is where it’s bound At the appointed moment The doors are opened wide All those gathered people Surge forward like the tide This is not a sale day Just a Sunday morning rush It’s not as if it’s crowded There is no fear of crush The shoppers with their trolleys Go charging round the store Rushing here and charging there They know what they want for sure Trolleys becoming fuller As they traverse up the aisle They must be nearly done now Just look, they’ve such a pile Trolley full and shopping done They head for the nearest till Head of the queue is in their sight They charge with iron will Body swerve and trolley wiggle They have made it to first place Twenty minutes shopping time They have won the race Standing there still puffing The time they’ve saved just great Sunday is a busy day There is no time to wait Think of that explosive action From the women and the men But hang on just a minute The checkouts don’t open til ten |

LOL Oh Burni that is brilliant, and so very true. You've captured the situation perfectly.
And it's only taken me 3 months to reply! - sorry. I reckon I can get my shopping done in 20 mins....... then it's loading it onto the conveyor belt and back into the trolley to get to the car, plus waiting time .... ooooh maybe hour and a half :D |
